What is Monte?

Monte helps you accurately predict when your project will be finished. It starts by gathering your historical project data and using that data to run 1,000,000 simulations of your current project. Finally, it creates a beautiful, easy-to-read chart you can use to identify probable end dates, each with a confidence level. Monte makes evidence-based scheduling easy.

Create reliable forecasts

You can make far more accurate predictions when you feed actual past data into your planning. With past data you can generate a chart with different confidence levels. In this example, you can predict with 95% confidence that the project will end on or before May 26th. How would it feel to have 95% confidence in your project's end date?

When will it be done?

One of the most ~~challenging~~/annoying questions at work today is "when will it be done"? Predicting the end date for a project is hard. Most think its impossible.

Too many variables

There are just too many variables that affect how long a project takes. Sick days, vacations, conferences, shifting priorities, technical issues, design changes.

We're bad estimators

Humans are bad at estimating how long a task will take. We're overly optimistic and error prone. A project end date based on task estimates is almost always wrong.

Tools don't help

The typical project management tool today still relies on humans making estimates. It may be excellent at tracking what needs to be done, but it won't reliably predict when a project will be done.

Account for ALL of the variables

Your past project data has all of the variables in it. Design changes, bugs, sickness, unexpected delays, vacations, even indecisive bosses. All of those variables are present and accounted for in your past data and subsequently can be accounted for in forecasts based on that data.

If your boss asks you what the impact would be if 20 new tasks were added to the project, you can quickly run a forecast to get a new end date.
